We'll see. It's a race between the faltering economy (and layoffs) which can kill any rebound in RE...

Housing market may have turned a pivotal corner

Even if the economy does not worsen, the statistics will move back and forth over the next few months. Think like a stock chart:

clearstation.etrade.com

Apple has moved up and down for the past 4 months while putting in a bottom. Eventually there will come a day when all the sellers are gone and some good news ignites a rally that takes it above its 50 DMA [the red line].....and everyone will start yelling "breakout".

Its the same with housing. LA's housing started to bottom in 1994 and it went back and forth for 3 years. Now remember LA was in serious trouble......it had been hit with a triple whammy: riots, 'quake and an economic decession. Then I think in 1996 or 1997 the market turned up definitely......that's when I finally sold my house and was able to move.

Cramer thinks the bottom will be in on housing this July. I suspect he's probably pretty close with his call.

Good article.....thanks for posting. We need some good news to offset the negative cast to the news these days.
