Absolutely and unequivacably agree with Olmert's view. So what you want is for Israel to remove the settlements first (I guess) and not in concert with a peace agreement that aceepts israels right to exist by PA and Hamas. Given that settlements are in the WB, i can live with that if PA buys in, in arabic as well as in English. Last time english and arabic from arafat told very different stories. So do we have a basis here for agreement? As i have always said labor intended for all settlements to be chips to get pals and arab states to the table with mutual recognition. I am willing to cash in those chips. Are you without prattling on about the 1800s or me going back 2000 years.
PS You are a good guy Al. Dont fall for chris' crap here as some have. Sarmans hatred is transparent--chris is far more devious. When he shows you maps, beware. When he talks falklands, think auschwitz. He is just a more subtle form of Emile Latrine who polluted this thread at an earlier date. Make no mistake about parsons. He hates Israel. He hates Jews although he plays word games with that. He hates America. He hates women. How he gets gravitas from fellow posters is beyond my understanding.

This is because of the Sixty Minutes piece. It must have come as a big shocker to Israel. To my knowledge, that's the first time the American media has called a spade a spade.

President Shimon Peres addressed recent settler violence in his remarks at Mt. Herzl. "There is a small minority of reckless, unrestrained people who boldly defy the state's authority, attack Palestinians just for being Palestinian and challenge the law-enforcement mechanisms that, among others, protect them, too.

"We must isolate and expel this violent and dangerous minority," Peres added, "and we mustn't be silent in the face of their incitement. We cannot tolerate the acts of vandalism and violence. It is as though they are a state within a state. It is the responsibility of the state to carry out justice without fear - the honor of Israel and the strength of its democracy and lawfulness depends on it."
