I just watched a show on National Geographic channel about the Reagan shooting. If you get a chance to see this, watch. Very interesting recounting of the shooting and it's aftermath, including Alexander Haig's famous (infamous?) statement, "I am in charge here, in the White House." I recall going to DC to look for a place to live, as I was moving there, and walking by the U.S. Courthouse as the Hinckley trial was going on. Recall the press camped out in front, with cameras, news crews and all that goes along with it.me. Pretty interesting time.
