the funny thing is, i heard some of the crooners on cnbs (i believe it was LIESman) saying for a guy like geithner WHO COULD make millions (perhaps AFTER he leaves treasury) in the private sector, $40k had to be a mere mistake, nobody would jeopardize their career for that....

the guy is small potatoes.....a $40k tax evasion was BIG....

Not even close. I've had clients who went 15 years without filing returns and paying taxes and they didn't get hit with fraud penalties.
