Fran (and Ken), I'm on one of the online matchmaking services, where I've noticed that in the category "Last read", quite a few women respond with The Shack. Do you think it's a book that would appeal equally to both men and women?

We just bought The Shack at Costco today on strength of recommendations like that. I thumbed through it and noticed several places I'm quite familiar with, such as Multnomah Falls.

I'm very big on landscape in the fiction I read. If the author doesn't get the landscape right, I do not like the book.
