I think the social welfare provisions should be taken out of the stimulus package and debated up or down on their own merits--or lack thereof.

Furthermore, I definitely don't think NY State should be the recipient of any more Federal Aid that would flow to its balancing its own state budget--since it can't seem to so itself.

That's just taking tax revenue from fiscally responsible states and rewarding spendthrift states.
