Ah, Steve, it's possible to hold both ideas in the head at the same time.

John, I had to go back to the beginning of this thread as I was sure I had missed something, but this is what I just can not agree with;

When told that the stimulus package would be "the largest spending bill in history," Frank raised a point that has gone largely overlooked: "The largest spending bill in history is going to turn out to be the one in Iraq.

Hold two ideas in your head if you want, but to take the position that .....well this isn't the one of the biggest because the Iraq war was .....is going to only hurt more the democrats chances to govern effectively. The public does not want the democrats wasting time bitching about what got us here, they want the democrats to govern by finding ideas that work for today. There is NO prize for the democrats for winning the election. There is only hard work. They fail to understand this and they will be done ruling in two years.
