I haven't read the book your link cites, but apparently, that book credits Reagan with ending the CW (although it doesn't present a favorable view of SDI, which we now know played an important role in winning the CW).

But not for the reasons you mentioned...that is that our military build up bankrupted the USSR. The facts given in the brief article tell otherwise.

The true reasons were a confluence of events decades in the making...Reagan was the president when these matters all converged and he played his cards well. Your typical right winger view is a simplification of these considerably more thoughtful historical convergences.

Berkeley is one of the most important centers of higher education in this country. It originates many important books and studies. What is your problem with it?
