Sam,

SmartMoney Interactive thought AMAT was a bargain at 36. Not all of the Street feels the chip eqpmt sector is totally without hope.

I believe the brokers who've downgraded foresee a slump in 98. I don't. I believe that the DRAM makers are still a major force. We've had 2 conference calls within 24 hours (LRCX and CYMI) which confirm rising demand from this sector. I further believe that their move to both DUV and .25u is going to directly cause significant growth for "our" holdings. Ultimately, that will be reflected in the stock price.

If that's cheerleading, then bring on the pom-poms and the tutus.
I had hoped that it was just a superiour analysis of some of the generally available information. :-)

It's quite possible that the bloodletting will continue. ...but none of these have made it to the no-brainer status, and probably won't. Some are beginning to approach a very desirable price.

Ian.
