<<<Where I come from this is A LOT OF MONEY. We're just rushing this thing out the door and not worrying about the long term consequences.

You want the Republicans brand on it as well so they can't use it against Obama later>>>

It is a lot of money. No one can argue against that but no one said ANYTHING about expenditures spent on the war in Iraq. That to a great extent brought us to this point. We are in a deep mess. The money that is being spent imo is just the begining of what is needed to get us out of this mess.

The Bush administration (Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.) could not govern but they were terrific at squelching dissent. They were able to keep MSM under complete control.

I am not asking that Obama do that. He couldn't do that in any case because of his nature, but he will have to manage expectations.

I expect the economy will get worse over the next 12 months. I expect unemployment to go into double digits and stay that way for a number of years.

Obama should know what to expect. You know what the Republican talking points will be (lower taxes, cut spending, personal responsibilities, blah, blah blah....).

We will be in crisis mode for the next two or three years but as Rahm Emanuel has said to not to let the opportunities of a crisis pass without taking full advantage.

I hope, in that time, Obama can get health care, social security, the ME and foreign policy, budget deficits, energy, and the world economy fixed.

It will be catastrophic if he fails. Just think Republicans are hoping that he fails.
