[GTE analyst meeting]

<<<Richard, Pat... what is the significance of Nov 18th?>>>

It was fairly well known that GTE was hosting an analyst meeting on November 17-18. I'm not sure but I think they do this every year. At any rate, as I understand it, they were going to emphasize their CLEC business and it's been suggested that if something were taking place that would change this status, it would also change the CLEC status, ergo, better cancel the meeting.

This postponement has absolutely nothing to do with ADSL. Those who knew of the meeting had simply speculated that it would be an opportune time for a launch and is in part why I queried Seamans yesterday. CEOs being closer to the source.

All in my opinion. I could be wrong.
