Right it's to get the catcher or pitcher to over react, sometimes they would throw to 2nd and then the 2nd baseman would go after the runner in the outfield, run scores. I've seen the pitcher throw to the right fielder, run scores. Like I said the best defense is just throw to the next batter.

I used to have my pitchers throw over to first right after the walker got there. Most LL kids who walk trot down, head down trying to look cool and they aren't paying attention, 90 % of them will turn after reaching the bag and come off it. Bam throw over and tag out. It used to work 1-2 times every game.
