You guys are getting kinda harsh this morning, LOL. An alternate theory is that the Republicans were left with a major leadership and identity void after their election train wreck last November; now they are flailing around looking for a message and a role in a supercharged atmosphere. Their clumsy leadership (matched on the other side of the aisle by Reid and Pelosi, IMHO) is not helping.

Politics inside the Beltway is going to be messy until everyone figures out where they stand and settles down into new roles.
