I think you will find that most of America - who are still working - find this nauseous.

The Democrats made their priorities and plans very clear and won the elections in 2006 and 2008, bringing about a political sea change in Washington. "Most of America" did not oppose that; without majority support, the Democrats would not be where they are today.

What's in the stimulus plan is not money to give people who are already getting unemployment and food stamps more of them. It's to extend unemployment benefits for people who have been unable to find work, and who are going to have an even harder time finding it in the current climate. And it's to get food stamps into the hands of people who wouldn't be getting them otherwise.
