I do not think one can think that way. If things go as far as you think, you are looking at a collapse of society and then no one survives very well. Not worth worrying about. Or if you are that worried move to Alaska-lol.

I think pure survival of your net worth should be your goal.

The thing about gold is that after this calamity is over you can decide what you want to trade it for.

I think just figuring out what will retain its value through this time period should be the soul objective.

IN 2008, gold was the only thing I know of that retained its value.

I am not a gold bug or survivalist lol. I think they will get this turned around with some inflation in the end. But we will survive and go on.

They will print a lot of money, but where else can the world go?

Even if you believe that gold and silver are the only true things then you have to figure out the best way to take advantage of that.

A friend of mine is buying "physical" gold and I always ask him how he's going to cash in on that if things get really tough. Does he keep it at home or in a safe deposit box? Wherever he keeps it, HOW is he going to get cash from it? If things get REALLY bad does he thing he'll be able to haul it down to the local coin store? Will there still BE a local coin store?

I prefer stocks, or as you mentioned, warrants or other derivatives.

If the MARKETS cease to exist, then I prefer AMMO and CANNED SOUP.<<

"HOW is he going to get cash from it?"
Buy with gold, get yer change in silver.

"I prefer AMMO and CANNED SOUP", dry grains, gold, silver, canning jars, and seeds.

But, fer you, a bushel of apples for half an oz of gold, unless you have something I really want in trade.
