<<<Are you familiar with the jobs banks programs re the auto industry?>>>

I have no argument with you that the auto industry is in crisis to a large degree by poor management of the industry in the past leaving them with little margin for error when a giant macro economic downturn occurs. We can learn from past mistakes but it is not an automatic to do just the opposite of what was done. Each situation has to be reassessed based on its own merits.

I can't really go into the specifics with any degree of confidence. All I can go by is the people who we (I) elected and by extension to manage our economy.

Barack Obama, Paul Volcker, Larry Summers, and Tim Geithner seem like a very strong team. They are all very smart. The economic team all have vast experience. They all seem to be reasonably flexible and not overly dogmatic. And, I sense I am in tune with their weltanshuang.

What else do I have to go by?
