John;

but I'm not ready to have the state decide who can have children.

The State doesn't. We're talking about a medical procedure paid for by taxpayers. I have to tell you I'm shocked at your response. Shocked and a little troubled that this is mainstream democrat thinking?

Here is a list of common sense rules that should apply to every single person getting the medical procedure that the woman of 14 kids and paid for my you and I;

1) No procedure for unwed single mothers.
2) No procedure for married woman who already have 2 or more kids
3) No procedure for woman who are not mentally stable
4) No procedure by doctors who have been in trouble with the State

Any of these would have disqualified this procedure. The discussion has to do with federal dollars to the State. The procedure to this woman was paid for by state insurance - by state tax payers. Now you want to help out the State with tax dollars. No no no!

This isn't the issue. The issue is what and how much should the state be paying for. This is a mother who has never married and has apparently been in school for years. Normally this is a situation where it's hard to pay for the care of one child, much less six.

Who paid for the original invitro of the six children? Would she have had this current multiple birth if she knew she was going to have to pay for their delivery and hospitalization?

Also, since federal law limits welfare to families of just two children, my assumption here is that she must be on state programs of some kind. Maybe there are no limits on Medicaid??
Through the state is there no limit on the number of children one can get food stamps and other services for??

Perhaps CA has more generous state welfare programs than other states?

If so, that's fine with me as long as CA will also run a balanced budget by taxing its citizenry sufficient to pay for this largesse.
