I don't know if he's been pressured or not. I would be surprised if he were. But that isn't the way I believe Pelosi harms his cause, and I don't think that's what Rubin suggested. Pelosi is seriously disliked by not just the RW, but by moderates who view her as dangerously liberal and virulently partisan. Even at Center where the bias tends toward the left, she is not respected. Her being at the forefront creates an insecurity and suspicion about the package. Just my opinion. Geithner may be the best, but I sure wish he weren't tainted by the tax issues. I dislike the idea of anyone being "excused" because they are brilliant. I want a return to character and integrity. Again, jmo.
