nakedly political move by the Obama administration to take the Census away from the Commerce Department, and locate it in the White House.

Hugh Hewitt suggested that the decision might have been an afterthought of appointing Judd Gregg to be Commerce Secretary - that far-left advocacy groups complained that he was going to put the 2010 Census into the hands of a Republican. But of course it also announced to Judd Gregg that he would be window dressing only.

Pick your poison. Either they moved it without enough thought, or Rahm Emmanuel is planning to redo the Census Chicago-style (expect a huge increase in extrapolated poor minorities, whom Project Acorn will rush to register to vote).
