People panned GWB for being inarticulate. My observation is that he did have difficulty when trying to deliver a scripted package written by others. On the other hand, he often seemed brilliant on his feet speaking extemporaneously.

I think this is because when scripted sometimes he found himself at odds with his core principles. In that respect he could be faulted for departing from them, and in my mind that is his principal failure.

GWB faced unprecedented challenges and never sniped at his critics. He was even nice to Helen Thomas, who was an absolute boor towards him and often called him the 'worst president' ever.

Obama can not refrain from blaming the 'last eight years' for the difficulties he faces instead of bucking up. On 9/11 Bush did not say ONE WORD about the previous eight years, even though most of us could plainly see Clinton's failures were at fault for that.

Obama is too smart for his own good. He does not know or feel the need to look inward.

A few months ago I said that I wanted Obama to succeed in uniting the country and not anything else that he said he wanted to do. Unfortunately, I fear that he is doing the reverse of that.

He will fail, no matter whether we want him to or not.
