The payroll tax holiday was one of the best ideas I've heard about, except I was thinking it would be more slanted to a tax holiday for businesses. I don't really like putting more money in consumer hands, because all Americans do with it is either buy Chinese goods with it or do nothing with it. Tax breaks for businesses are far more effective in that they use the money to either not layoff more workers or to make more business investments with a return, which creates more jobs in the longer run. That's an idea I could support.

BTW, I found a website that has had the House and Senate versions of the bill posted for awhile now. So we were all wrong to think that this stuff wasn't posted. It just wasn't well advertised. Both Parties need to do a better job telling the public where to find this kind of information, before it comes to a vote and before the President signs it into law.
