How can you not understand this?

I continue to be amazed at the number of people who don't. Maybe their childhoods missed the fable about killing the goose who laid the golden egg... <g>

Well, he said 75 years, and I've also read that after the baby boomers are gone, the demographics for the program are far more favorable. There are many other programs out there and ways to do it. The point is it can be done and citizens can have their SS without worrying about their 401k's becoming 201k's, (perhaps 101k's), and all the rest. Pretty strong language calling the current President an idiot after a couple of weeks, the past 8 years in my opinion defined that term much more accurately...

Off Topic:

When originally passed, the retirement age of 65 was set just 18 months shy of men's life expectancy. If the current retirement age was 18 months shy of current life expectancy then the SS system would be much closer to solvency. It could be sold as FDR's solution.
