Katelew;

Krugman may be somehwat hamstrung by this millstone around his neck.

Well put. Get a noble prize in economics and then to see what's happened to our economy and you see your fame diminished if the economy doesn't snap back? If you urge we spend four times what we are spending, you can always say we just didn't spend enough. But the stimulus bill is the largest spending bill in the history of the universe. To suggest it needs to be 3 or 4 times larger yet just leaves me gasping. But, I'm a fiscal conservative, so what can I say? Even if Krugman is completely right, there is just no support in congress for a bill spending that kind of money - so it's completely irrelevant from a pragmatic point of view.
