Face the facts Kenneth no one even read the 1K+ page stimulus package. It amounts to nothing more than deficit fueled stimulus aimed at social spending...

Nonsense....everything was OK until 2006 when Pelosi et al. took over....this bill is an abomination which may provide a small shot term boost but will over time hurt the economy and negatively affect GDP. It is completely irresponsible....

Texas businessman R. Allen Stanford, whose multibillion-dollar investment empire was ordered seized Monday by a federal judge, has long enjoyed big influence in Washington thanks to a steady supply of campaign contributions, Caribbean trips for lawmakers and fees to lobbying firms.

Mr. Stanford and his affiliated companies have spent more than $5 million on lobbying fees since 2000, federal records show. The businessman and his top executives have also contributed at least $2 million to candidates, including key lawmakers, and additional thousands of dollars on jets and resorts.
[The Antigua Sun, controlled by Texas financier R. Allen Stanford, published this photo in a June 2008 article recounting this handshake after a speech delivered by then-Sen. Barack Obama. The White House declined to comment.]

Obama Rushes To Capitalize On Emergency
ibdeditorials.com

The big story last week was the incredible congressional rush to pass a bill that was more than a thousand pages long in just two days — after which it sat on the president's desk for three days while the Obamas were away on a holiday.

There is the same complete inconsistency in the bill itself. Despite the urgency in President Obama's rhetoric, as well as in Congress' haste in passing a bill that few — if any — members had time to read, much less consider, most of the actual spending will take place next year, at the earliest.

Not even the most Alice-in-Wonderland actions will arouse the suspicions of those who have what William James once called "the will to believe."

Kenneth does not want to assign any responsibilty to Congress.

But the big concern is how Obama and the democrats have raised government spending to GDP to over 39 percent

We are now approaching socialist numbers. They are quickly moving to that goal.
