see krugman today. He says this is more like the panic of 1873 as opposed to eighties, seventies or thirties. He sounded like this will be a five year event (guess this is year 2) with stimulus stopping the bleeding but three more years for real growth to begin again and he was bullish on that happening in a big way as real estate and auto stock shortages create the next move up.

you are simply begging for a Great Depression

Seems that is a fairly big contingent.

Surviving a depression is almost as good as surviving a war...it will prove they are strong men......plus make great stories to tell the grandkids!
