One of the most important economic issues in modern times...can't deploy widely because of capacity and cost and the same issues are preventing cost reductions. A 46" LCD TV, a few years ago cost $10K. Now you can buy a 46" 1080P at Costco for under $1K or roughly the same price as a 200W PV panel...all because of incredible demand driving economy of scale and competition...consider that a LCD is a significantly more complex device than a PV panel.

RW, good article, but I have to take issue with this line:

Wind power accounted for 35% of new power generating capacity in 2007. It won't be long before America overtakes Germany in terms of absolute wind generation capacity.

I don't have the data for solar, however, but I believe there are significant strides in that area as well.
