...and tell us about the 8 years before that Tom. You remember...the one that forced FNM and FRE to expand questionable housing loans as part of the Community Re-Investment act. Then tell us about Andrew Cuomo at HUD...or maybe Barney Frank and FNM.

Thanks for that.

It seems like some people cannot conceive that something may be going wrong unless the opposite party controls the white house and congress. Then all of a sudden they wake up from their 8 year slumber.

re: [" tell us about the last administration too please."]

Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld (just to keep the list short) have
all arguably committed war crimes, if not also treason.

At best, single handedly they've done more in 8 years to turn
back the clock on human rights, freedom, and democracy than did
two World Wars, two terrorist attacks, and two hundred years of history.

I think America is finally waking up to the fact that both
parties are controlled by the same deep pockets on K street,
and the same set of strings.

I think America is also finally discovering that any
differences in party name, and in campaign promises;
quickly narrows when they take office, and the "real"
government MAINTAINS control.

-- 17,000 more troops sent to War last week.

-- No bi-partisanship input into the stimulus package.

-- No follow through on the promise that any further bailouts
or stimulus packages would be posted online for at least
five days before any votes were cast.

-- No change in the military-industrial complex.

-- And we're still handing bankers billion dollar checks.

Lot's of hope, but that's fading just as fast as the DOW is.

And of course, they've managed to divide and conquer us
once again... as Rome burns.

A pox on both their houses.

Other than a small hand full like Ron Paul and Dennis Kuccinich,
they all should be run out of town by an angry mob come
2010, and 2012.

Maybe we can find a good use for all those shiny, new
FEMA camps after all.

And the lesson is no matter who runs the government it will be corrupt. Because power ccorrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Solution less powerful government. Think about it. If government did not enjoy vast regulatory power would lobbyists expend huge sums to influence it? It is the increasing power that has accreted to government that causes most of our problems. All the while they say they are helping they are hurting, because they are corrupted by power.
