Iran is much like china was early on in our relationship with them. Persians are pragmatic people and in a grand deal, assuming they can bring their rev guards, hizbolla and hamas along, lasting peace in the mideast becomes attainable. Arab states are ready for peace, arab and jewish peoples in the region and worldwide are exhausted both physically and mentally from this 60 years war. Peace in the world requires peace in the mideast as this will isolate the real world danger which is al quaeda and fanatical sunnis in general. With all that is going on in the world and domestically, obama has a chance for greatness that no other president since FDR has had. One thing in american history that we have blessed with from the start is that when difficult times occurs, great leaders appear. I pray every day that this will be the case over the next 8 years.

You are so naive.

And are more like Americans than we like to think. The Iranians who left Iran after the Shah died adapted very quickly to life in S. CA.
