Haim, the US helped start Iran's nuclear program under the Shah of Iran in 1974. It was good then, but it's bad now? The assistance was stopped after the revolution in 1979, but jump started again in the 1990's with Russian assistance. This isn't much different than the chemical weapons assistance given to Iraq in the early 80's and cut off after April Glaspie said some of the dumbest words ever uttered by a US ambassador. Basically the US policy is if we like the government and they are strategically important, they can have whatever weapons or technology they want. If we don't like them, they can't have them or are not entitled to them.

America needs to turn to Canada, with our oil sands we have more oil than Saudi Arabia. No chance of war with Canada and the USA. The heck with the middle east.

You would be right if Iran had a true secular and democratic government but at present time they are ruled by an Extremist Islamic Regime, There is no deference between the regime in Iran and Israel. They are both extremists. If you accept one you have accept the other. which wants to take over and intimidate all the ME, Do you see a pattern? Like Israel is intimidating the ME. more so the oil rich countries and dictate to the world the price of crude oil and how to conduct themselves. Again, do you see a pattern? Like Israel dictating the price of diamond. For your own good please read the Quran and Shaaria Law etc. and then you may change your view. Important to understand the differences between the Suni and Shia sects not to mention the other splinter sects some of which are even more extreme Make a Jewish substitution and the premis will hold true. So you argument is flawed. If Israel is allowed to possess nukes so should Iran. OTOH, the Zionists plan never intended for any country in ME or Persia to have nukes, thus that will put a dent into the plan.
