I found the one guy who worked for McCain. And I found some republican contributions from some of them- but that's hardly proof of anything these days.

I found a lot of paranoid ranting on the web about these "liberal" banking guys (which I swear, still seems like a complete oxymoron.)

They aren't even all democrats (and being a democrat has little to do with being liberal- they are different things, except -possibly- to Rush)

What this crisis does show is that we need regulation- even McCain said that when he wrote his little toothless letter back in the day. But I guess regulation is too "liberal" too.

I'm still chuckling about it being a "mores" problem. This problem is as old as money, and "mores" won't fix it. What fixes it is oversight and criminal laws- but oversight to prevent it and catch it early is best:

Drunk driving is a "mores" problem too- but I'm under no illusions that we can make it better without police road blocks and harsh drunk driving laws. Even with stops and harsh laws bad people will still take chances with innocent lives- but we do the best we can do. We do that with lives, and we do it with money. And that's all we can do.
