That must be the "new professionalism" Scalia had in mind when he tried to justify his vote for no-knock warrants. I like Scalia, but he dropped the ball on that one.

According to court documents, the girl complained of breathing problems after the incident and medics were called to check her. A short time later, she was taken to a youth detention center and booked for investigation of auto theft and third-degree assault, the latter accusation dealing with her conduct toward the deputy.

Wow. She kicks a shoe off in the general direction of the deputy and is charged with 3d degree assault. He hits and kicks her, pulls her hair and slams her to the floor and is charged with 4th degree assault (a less serious charge than she was charged with)?

Absurd.

In a system designed and implemented by noble beings, the good and decent are promoted while the less worthy are demoted. The system and society evolves to increasing magnificence.

We need a serious call for reform and restructure in the western culture. Backroom deals, codes of blue, justice for a price, and influence peddling have become deeply engrained.
