How can you NOT blame Obama if he is continuing the very same policies employing the very same people (GS alums) that got us into this mess? Obama is not doing anything substantially different than Bush was doing last fall (expect spending even more money) nor is there any indication that he is going to change directions. The markets have voted that they don't like this. Expecting him to suddenly do things like dump Emanuel and find a new direction is nothing more than wishing.

The mess won't get fixed anytime soon because 1) The people that Obama's brought in aren't competent to fix it and 2) They aren't inclined to fix things because it doesn't fit their actual agenda.

If you've heard that Rush Limbaugh is the central figure in the Republicans, you should dig a little and find out for sure. Republicans are extremely unhappy right now but unlike what many vocal non-Republicans on this thread think, they were already extremely unhappy with Bush.

I think that a lot of people that voted for O expected better coming out of the box rather than a bunch of social programs, pork and same 'ole wall street dudes. I say fix the economy first.

If that's true then we have a one party system at this time

you have that precisely backwards, john....it's been ONE big party for nearly a generation....we have a plutocracy the D's and the R's just change places at certain turning points in elections and the 'party' in power gets to decide which pockets to line (besides themselves).....i think we're ripe for a viable 3rd party movement.....at least i hope so
