The point is Brumar, that arguing over semantics is silly. "Lookie lookie, I caught you in a semantic slip" doesn't measure up to proving that my ideas are worse than yours.

As far as FISA being proof of our rights being trampled, I'm surprised that you don't see that. FISA is to electronic communication what putting a video camera on every street corner and in your house to monitor you is to your freedom. Both are a violation of our right not to be monitored and surveilled without a court order. The very act of subjecting someone to an investigation or a less than discrete surveillance can cost people their jobs and their friends. All it takes is one well-meaning, but over-zealous, civil servant that thinks he has evidence that you are a terrorist and the next thing you know you could be in a heap of shit with no recourse. I want our cops, FBI, and other security apparatus to have a court order with good justification to conduct invasive investigations. FISA took that right away.
