By nationalize the banks, what are you talking about? All the banks in the country? Some banks? Which ones?

What about other financial companies ... the insurance industry, GE, finance companies?

I don't think blaming everything on Bush is gonna fly for very long.

You are right, about a year, give or take 4 months. If things haven't stabilized and started improving in Jan '10 then I will be all over his ass.

I'll try to remember that.

It would help if the obstructionists would get out of the way.

Since the Democrats control both houses of Congress, exactly how is anyone in the way? Can't the Democrats do anything they want?

Wonder whats wrong with Krugman? Here's a liberal Democratic anti-Bush fanatic and he's bashing Obama and Geithner's handling of the financial crisis. Why is Krugman being obstructionist?

The argument over bank nationalization is a stupid debate with ignorance on both sides. The fact is that the large financial institutions have already been nationalized. AIG and Citigroup are well on their way to being majority owned by our government. And guess what? Our government had not choice but to do that or face economic collapse.

Wall Street and the financial industry should have thought about the long term consequences of their rapacious behavior, including the government stepping in to save the industry from itself. Now they are complaining about bank nationalization? Give me a break.
