Now I am convinced Obama's intelligence has been vastly overstated. This is completely ignorant and stupid. If he knows so little about the Taliban, someone else should be making decisions for him. I'm not so sure on this one. Plenty of Afghans are just working for the Taliban because it's a job. And tribe-flipping is an ancient part of warfare in that region. Works even better if you can pay somebody to flip sides in the middle of a battle. Do I have confidence in their ability to do it? Only if they let Petraeus run the show.
