When we got out of the Ute Lemper show, it was after midnight and there was absolutely no traffic on 5th ave. Not a cab in sight. It was no longer snowing and we walked right down 5th ave in the middle of the street for about 20 minutes and it was just a magical time. Finally we spotted a cab on one of the side streets, walked over to it and the driver was just about ready to go home but said he would give us a ride back to our hotel. My friends son was living in Brooklyn and he paid him to take him back there as well. It was a truly wonderful evening.
