Well, personally, if I had been responsible for making the decisions that caused my company to fly into the ground

We don't know that these people were responsible for making any decisions of that nature.

Before they are condemned, rational people would consider the nature of the payments. Some may be "bonuses" of the sort that should be questioned while others may be simply fees earned.

To start condemning the recipients of these funds before you know what they did or didn't do to earn them occurs to me to be just typical irrational liberal behavior.

"What if it turns out these "bonuses" are not bonuses at all, but are commissions for which AIG is contractually obligated to make payment? "

Hence the term "might". However, if there is anything in the contract about "perform", they are on shaky ground.

Oh they are bonuses. They were promised to employees at the beginning of 2008.

I would not want to be the CEO of AIG right about now. I have never seen Obama this pissed and now Cuomo is on the CEO's butt.

Uh........because Obama and Cuomo are mad, does that make them socialists?

Cuomo Demands Details on Bonuses From AIG, Says He Will Investigate

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo says his office will investigate whether the AIG employees receiving bonuses were involved in the insurance giant's near-collapse and whether the payments are fraudulent under state law.
