Judy- It is strange that a small item should be exaggerated to such an extent-H&Q analyst was way out of line when he called Malayasians inability to buy cellulars- I would think that this is a good opportunity to add on to our core positions and identify quality- on going forward earnings TXN is now at 16- 98 earnings- same with few other stocks, I will expect this week a lot of coverage initiated based on valuations on these stocks- good piece of post , this was one of the major cause of Friday selloff.

Judy, did you see the contradictions in these:
''It means the capacity that Texas represented won't be needed until the future,'' said an Intel spokesman, clarifying
previous reports on the plant.

''The unit demand for flash remains high.''

My clarification to intel's clarification is that they essentially clarified that flash memory demand is weak. -g- How else you explain: ''It means the capacity that Texas represented won't be needed until the future?''
re DMA's, see my note to Randy.
Regards.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Intel Corp said that it is delaying
the opening of its $1.3 billion plant in Fort Worth, Texas due to a product switch at another plant in Israel, not due to weakening demand for flash memory chips.

Is this why AMAT is taking a beating? If so, how soon will they recover from this news?
