Anyone who thinks that this is a mere obsession over $165M is part of the whole elitist mentality. Challenge an elitist with the facts and watch him implode. Used to 165M was a lot of money. I didn't get it at first when the Rs jumped on it. It made sense to me that the bonuses were probably contractual commitments and it was money that had to be paid, so why were the Rs jumping on it? Then, I finally got it. It was the Ds who put this in there. The entire problem is directly traceable to the actions of Obama, Dodd, and other Ds -- all of whom are well paid by AIG. So, the Rs are just going apeshit over it and the Ds are trying to blame everyone but themselves (well except Obama who said, "The buck stops with me but it isn't MY fault"). It would be funny were it not so freaking sad.
