I read through SDTH 10K. I will need to spend more time on it, but my short impression is rather bipolar. On one hand, I like the company, I kind-of like their main business (NPCC), I like how they bought back convertibles at $.50 on a dollar resulting in gains for shareholders. I am neutral on the announced and then canceled purchase of fertilizer business. On the other hand, the loss of coal-based chemicals business is significant blow to the sales. Even 40% NPCC growth replaces only 50% of coal chemical revenues. So all lost revenues are impossible to replace. I will try to figure out if this still means that SDTH is undervalued like I thought or perhaps fairly valued. Hope to have more thoughts by the end of next week.
