Thanks for your reply.

I've been delighted by Obama's willingness to make many broad, sweeping changes-- the ones he alluded to while campaigning. I'm concerned about the public's impatience and think it's being whipped up to a frenzy by certain folks on the right. I think *this* is Obama's first obstacle to overcome in order to move toward becoming a great president.

I must confess that so far Obama has done a MUCH better job than I expected him to. Geithner was the only big mistake I have seen him make and, when it comes right down to it, Obama really didn't have any choice about Geithner.

Obama lacks experience but has so far done a much better job than Bush, an order of magnitude better. He has the potential to become a truly great president. Whether he does or not remains to be seen.

How the hell did Obama NOT have any choice about Geithner?

If Obama's the president and its actually his decision, he should be able to pick anyone he wants to. Are you telling me that Obama didn't get to choose his own Secretary if the Treasury?
