Regardless, the majority of the Taliban are Afghanis at this point and saying that attacking the Taliban is not the same as attacking Afghanis isn't anywhere near correct. This is an absurd position to take. It is like saying we were at war with Iraq which obviously was never true. I don't know what the makeup of the Taliban is today and you don't either, but it doesn't matter. What is a fact is that some 33 million people live in Afghanistan, and it is estimated there are maybe 10-15k Taliban. So, it certainly isn't the same thing as "attacking Afghanis" when we attack Taliban. Most Afghanis do not want Taliban rule and never have.
