This is an absurd position to take. It is like saying we were at war with Iraq which obviously was never true.

I don't know what the makeup of the Taliban is today and you don't either, but it doesn't matter.

What is a fact is that some 33 million people live in Afghanistan, and it is estimated there are maybe 10-15k Taliban. So, it certainly isn't the same thing as "attacking Afghanis" when we attack Taliban. Most Afghanis do not want Taliban rule and never have.
