In all the discussion of national health care I see little discussion of what it is. For instance, we have a good health care plan. That plan has several requirements that make it far from free. First, it is not fully subsidized by the company (less so as a retiree)- but even as an employee it cost several hundred dollars per month, there is a deductible of about $1000 and after the deductible and 80/20 split for the next several thousand.

So, my subsidized health care will cost somewhere north of %5k per year. Since a lot of people do not have $5k - who pays that? Will I be relieved of my current cost obligation?

This national discussion has not even begun to be priced.
