Z, teddyjack, CJ, the rest, think government is the solution to all problems When you try to argue from a point where the end justifies the means, it's clear where a lot of the responses come from, thin air. Or a nervous laugh like Obama and Hillary. When you call their bluff, their reaction is predictable. Definitely not intellectual heavyweights, hell, anyone with some common sense can defend their opinion, if it's defensible, theirs are not.

What we think is that government CAN be run well, there are examples where it IS, and it doesn't suffer from the need to make a profit and have perpetually rising stock prices. There are some needs that are best met by government, and health care is one of them. The military is another.
