Bush's wild spending is a BIG negative in my opinion

And rightly so.

but then after all the talk by Obama about being fiscally responsible

As much as I dislike much of Obama's plans I think there is a big difference. Obama obviously inherited a disaster.

Actually he inherited several. Conservative have short memories similar to the misdirected praise Liberals give Clinton for the economy during his admin. Neither seem to have a very clear idea of cause and effect.

Conservatives are on him about his desperate plan to shore up our economy, even though conservatives were silent as the original rip offs took place.

Liberals will not like the fact he will not be able to solve the mess he inherited in the Middle East, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Liberals will not understand Powell's admonition "You break it you buy it."

So they will all dislike him. After all of 90 days. I'm not in love with him but I'm willing to forgo judgement for awhile.

I'm too old to KNOW I'm right about everything. I'm old enough to know there are smarter people than me. There are some smart people in Obama's administration. They may be wrong but they may be right too. I don't like the deficit spending but I'm somewhat sure the alternatives could be worse.

Bush's spending is what made me lean towards libertarianism

Well for Geoff it was money. For me it was Lyndon Johnson. Death and money.

Maybe it was the same both times.

War and deficit spending.

If I'd had my way with US policy I doubt there would have been a war or 9/11 to start with.

On 9/11 my Mom called and woke me up with these words "They did what you said they would do. They blew up the WTC."

Now I didn't mention the WTC exactly but I had mentioned to my Mom that the surprise would not be when they attacked us but that they hadn't attacked us at that point. And I added that their next attack could be a huge act of terrorism. It seem obvious to me.
