I have commented several times on how much easier it is for me. It's important that you set down and eat with your family. More important, IMO, in your case, than refraining from every little bit of the simple starches.

So you have to relax your requirements a bit, and make it up on other meals. Cheating a bit won't hurt you anywhere nearly as much as losing that family meal together.

Thanks, that's how I feel. BTW, there is an easy way to do low(er) carb without making a scene at every meal (at home or when eating outside). I just eat a lot less of the starchy sides dishes. Most of the portions are too big (calorie-wise) anyway.

I just watched the movie FatHead, that was linked here several times:
amazon.com

The guy was able to do it even at fast food restaurants, by ordering selectively, and ended up losing weight on McDonald's diet.

The second part of the documentary has a lot of footage with interviews with Dr. Eades (Mr. and Mrs.) and others. Worth watching...

Joe

Took temperature orally this a.m. and it was 96.5F. A couple more readings like that and I will call my doc. My TSH from last year was 1.39.
