So apart from police, children and innocent bystanders, having more guns around improves safety for all.

How many more stories do we have to hear like this before the public starts to look at this is as more than just an anecdotal exercise?

You let the father totally off the hook and blame the gun.

Nope, nothing wrong with the dad, if that dang gun wasn't there whispering in his ear for him to shoot his ids, why he never would have done it.....

But, guns don't whisper you say,

I say, neither do they operate without a determined person behind the trigger.....

So, the dad seems to bear some....nope... ALL the responsibility here.
