""one can make oil out of coal"" I looked at the heat and material flows in this process. It produces a lot of 1) heat and 2) CO2. Thus such a plant is necessarily an electricity co-generation plant. Further, for those that believe CO2 is harmful (certainly not the Chinese or Indians) disposal of CO2 is a significant impediment. Pumping the CO2 deep into the earth is a proposed solution.
