i had comcast for twenty years.. a very unhappy person. that thing in the back yard standing up is not very friendly looking. comcast was not reliable.. strong winds and they cable went out and my pc too. most thunders storms and snow storms cable went out. i have fios now going on four years, not one time have i been down yet experienced ten power failures some up to ten hours with peco lines down or transformer blown. i fire up my generator and my tv , pc back on line. i now have hd channels with fios i cannot get over the reception and that with an rca 42" $700 set bought on black friday.

Yes, i have a box at the foot of my driveway or between neighbor and mine, it is flush with the ground and about three feet deep. i do not remember them digging up an asphalt on streets or driveways in our development. they have a scanner that directs the underground hog in the direction they want to dig and it doesn't disturb the tops of soil.. they are digging down about three feet. the lines run into the box set and then a line is run under ground but it is buried cable like your comcast cable to your utilities on the side of your house. mine ran across the lawn and it took some time for grass to fill back in. If comcast had to repair thier cable i would be in the same situation.

the difference in reception on the tv and pc response is night and day between fios and cable. most people in the development have dropped cable and switched to verizon's fios.

It took my neighbor about a year to switch over. he said comcast was giving him so many credits for outages he couldn't afford to switch.. however at the end of the year and being out so much he figured he wasn't saving anything.

They did the same thing to my driveway. When they were "finished" it was all sunken and totally unacceptable. I called them and they were out in two days to repair it. It is fine now. Urge your neighbor to complain.

GOP's Tedisco Expands Lead In NY Election

Thursday, April 9, 2009 1:50 PM

The counting of absentee votes now underway in upstate New York reflects a race that continues to be remarkably close, with GOP Assemblyman Jim Tedisco widening his lead over Democrat Scott Murphy by all of seven votes, to a margin of 24.

According to vote totals posted by the New York State Board of Elections just before noon Thursday, Tedisco has 77,201 votes to Murphy’s 77,177. Those numbers were received by the State Board as of 10 a.m.

The new totals reflect the counting of 66 absentee ballots in Columbia County; 57 absentee ballots in Dutchess County, and 203 absentee ballots in Greene County. More absentee balloting results are expected to flow into the state election board throughout the day.

On election night, Tedisco carried Greene County. Murphy carried Dutchess and Columbia counties.

Murphy actually leads so far in the absentee balloting, 185 to 141. Despite Murphy’s absentee edge thus far, Tedisco was able to expand his overall lead due to other vote adjustments called in by the 10 counties in the 20 Congressional District.

About 6,300 absentee ballots remain to be counted. With Good Friday and the Easter Holiday looming, it is doubtful county election officials will complete the tabulation of absentee ballots by week’s end, sources tell Newsmax. The absentee ballots are thought likely to determine the winner.

Late yesterday, Tedisco attorney James E. Walsh released a statement expressing optimism about the ultimate outcome.

“We are just now getting into the paper ballots and we expect that the numbers will continue to move, just as they did last week,” he stated. “As the day comes to a close, we feel very good about our position and continue to believe that the final tally will show Jim Tedisco as the winner. As we have said all along, the primary focus is to make sure that every lawful ballot be counted so that residents of the 20th District can have confidence in the ultimate outcome.”

A court hearing to set a schedule for the counting of overseas and military ballots will occur Monday morning.
