Am I missing something. It is not clear to me what the FED, or for that matter the government could do to enhance technology. I suppose the government as opposed to the Fed could train up people, but the government can't even educate High School Kids.

The problem with velocity is: What "M" does one use?
You get wildly different answers between M1 and MZM.

Furthermore, it is important to note that falling Velocity is a RESULT of increased demand for money, it is not a CAUSE of anything. Many people (notably Mauldin) seem to think we need to get Velocity up.

It does not work that way.
